Above: Sidney Smith, one of our lead drivers, is picking up 250 meal boxes to deliver to seniors all over the county. Senior Transportation Connection picks up on average 600 boxed meals a week and so far has delivered roughly 5,000 boxes to seniors needing food since the pandemic has started. |

With the pandemic keeping us inside, getting food has become increasingly more difficult for seniors.
Senior Transportation Connection has been working with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to get food to these seniors in the form of Meal Boxes filled with enough non-perishable food items to last 5 or 7 days depending on the box.
WRAAA is able to supply these meal boxes using Older Americans Act Funds.
Senior Transportation then picks up the meals and delivers them to participating senior centers where many seniors would normally come to get hot lunches throughout the week.
Seniors can then pick up their meals from the senior centers.
For those who rely on others for transportation, registrations can be completed through WRAAA to have Senior Transportation deliver box meals directly to their front door.
For more information on this meal program please contact the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging at (800) 626-7277 ☎ or (216) 621-0303 ☎.
