STC 2021 16th Annual Meeting Highlights
On May 19th 2021 Senior Transportation Connection conducted its 16th annual meeting honoring board members, electing officers, and hearing about the financial health of the organization. Typically the annual meeting is an in-person celebratory luncheon gathering, but due to COVID restrictions, was held virtually.
Board Chair Julie Rittenhouse, opening the meeting with a moment of silence in memory of Gerald Chattman, who served nearly three terms as a director. Mr. Chattman passed away in February 2021.
STC's board of directors serve three year terms, and consists of seven at-large members, and 15 members appointed by the following authorities:
➜ The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation
➜ Northeast Ohio Coordinating Agency (NOACA)
➜ Cuyahoga County Executive and Council
➜ City of Cleveland Mayor and Council President
➜ Cuyahoga County Mayors and Managers Association
➜ Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA)
Ms. Rittenhouse welcomed new members Danette Allums, Cuyahoga County Department of Senior and Adult Services (appointed by County Executive Armond Budish;) and Harriet Applegate, Retired Secretary of the AFL-CIO appointed by United Way of Greater Cleveland. She expressed appreciation to members Jackie Chavez-Anderson (North Olmsted Senior Center) and LaJean Ray (Fatima Family Center)who resigned their positions.
The board elected officers for an additional one year term:

➜ Stacey O'Brien- Secretary
Mayor reported that the organization was in a sound financial position.
The highlight of the meeting was the designation of Mrs. Lois K. Goodman as an Honorary Lifetime Director. Mrs. Goodman was a founding director and served in a variety of board leadership roles during her 16 -year tenue on the board. The designation is reserved for directors having "rendered exemplary service to STC." Congratulations Mrs. Goodman on a well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your guidance in making STC the organization that it is today.
