Senior Transportation Connection Board Announces Hiring of Next Executive Director

The Senior Transportation Connection (STC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Laura Kleinman will become the next Executive Director for the organization, effective December 6, 2021. Laura succeeds legacy Director Janice Dzigiel who is transitioning to the next chapter after a robust, dedicated and impactful career.

STC is heading into its 16th year and an exciting time in its development. Julie Rittenhouse, chair of STC's board, said, "Laura Kleinman brings a rich mix of passion for STC's mission and expertise in strategic planning and organizational development for small businesses. Her experience, creativity and a strong desire for doing well and doing good makes her uniquely qualified to lead STC and the communities it serves, especially our senior riders."

Most recently, Laura has served as Vice President of Services for University Circle, Inc. (UCI) where she oversees a team responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and vibrant neighborhood, as well as UCI's community and small business education programs, including NextSteps Strategies for Business Growth. Laura has spent most of her professional career in the economic and community development field, focused on the revitalization of Cleveland's neighborhoods. She is currently Board President of HFLA of Northeast Ohio and also serves on the board of the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center. Laura graduated with a degree in urban studies from Cornell University and earned her MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. She and her family reside in the Ludlow neighborhood of Cleveland.

Laura will enjoy the benefit of working with a leadership team steeped in STC knowledge and subject matter expertise. All are looking forward to working together to build on partnerships and vision to grow STC and its important impact on the community.

Since 2005, STC has provided comprehensive, coordinated, efficient and affordable transportation to seniors and adults with disabilities throughout Cuyahoga county. STC passengers have mobility challenges due to age, lack of access, disability, frailty or inability to drive, primarily for medical appointments and senior center programs. STC remained open during the COVID pandemic to provide essential services to residents of the 30 communities and organizations serviced by the organization.
